Makerere University finalises admissions for 2011/2012 government students
Makarere University has finalised the admission of students on the government sponsorship scheme. The University is attributing the low turn-up of students offering professional courses to increased number of private universities in the country.
Addressing the news conference at the university, the vice chancellor Prof. Venerius Baryamureba noted that students opt to join other universities whenever they are not offered professional courses at Makerere.
The vice chancellor also revealed that the university has admitted 1350 and 650 students in her university braches in Fort Portal and Jinja respectively effective this academic year.
