Musanze, a town for mountain gorillas

Musanze town is a two hours drive from Kigali, the capital city of Rwanda as you move towards the Ugandan side.

One can proudly feel good being near gorillas in Volcanoes National Park. Musanze is such an awesome fast growing town.

Gorillas a key tourist attraction

Many tourists actually call it the gorilla town because every sign post or notice board you turn to be it in a government office, restaurant, they are proud to pin up a gorilla. The streets of Musanze town are clean.

The time I went to Kigali I visited Musanze town and I slept at Hotel La Palm. The streets were all clean and flowers and trees were well trimmed. Then I thought of our dirty Kampala!

I also thought of our poor Kisoro, Kanungu and Kabale district. They have game parks but the leaders have not exploited the tourism potential in these areas. And it also seems guerillas can differentiate between good and bad.

Most of them come to the Ugandan side to look for food but in evening most of them go back to the Rwandan side where life is so conducive for them.
