BBC to air Africa Science festival live from Makerere University
The BBC World Service will for five days, starting Sunday 24th to Thrusday 28th broadcast live from the Freedom Square, Makerere University in the first ever Science Festival in Uganda, celebrating the role of Africa in Global Science.
Prof. John Ddumba Sentamu, Vice Chancellor of Makerere University
The Vice Chancellor Professor John Ddumba-Ssentamu will be featured on Science Africa show slated to air on Thursday 28th March 2013. Throughout the course of the week, scientists from African and the World over will be interviewed and away from the show hold Masterclasses to share experiences in specific disciplines with Students and Staff of Makerere University.
These include; Prof. Justin Jonas-Rhodes University, Prof. Tejinder Verdee-CERN. Dr. Ashitey Trebi-Ollennu-NASA. Prof. Jimmy Pittchar-International Centre of Insect Physiology and Ecology, Dr. Katcho Karume-Goma Volcanological Observatory, Prof. Peter Piot-London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, Prof. Nelson Sewankambo-CHS, Prof. Pontiano Kaleebu-MRC UVRI, Dr. Godfrey Asea-WEMA Uganda, Dr. Florence Lubwama Kiyimba-Agricultural Technologist among others.
Owing to technical operations, some of the pre-recorded shows will require members intending to be part of the audience to sign up before hand. Please see below for those details
