Uganda’s influential musician Bobi Wine aka Robert Kyagulanyi
Like him or hate him, Bobi Wine is one of the key musicians in Uganda for many reasons.
The self-proclaimed President of the Ghetto Republic of Uganja has churned out some of Uganda’s greatest hit songs and is famous for his educative songs. Bobi Wine’s real name is Robert Kyagulanyi and his music is a combination of different genres as he has done songs that are in Ragga, Afro Beat and Hip- Hop.

The Mr. Money singer started his musical journey with hits like Akagoma, before having collabos with singer Bebe Cool in Funtula and Juliana in Taata Wabana Yani and Mama Mbire that made him a household icon in Uganda’s music industry.
Many Ugandans love his hits that include Kiwani, Mbada, Mr. Money, Katala to mention but a few and has released over five albums over the years.
He is the head of the Ghetto Republic of Uganja the former firebase crew that has a host of other musicians like Mikie Wine his young brother and Henry Tigan among others. Bobi Wine is a father and married to Barbara Itunga with whom they have two children son and daughter. The son’s name is Kampala while the daughter’s name is Nairobi.
