Strikes in schools blamed on drug abuse

Ultimate Media

The increasing cases of strikes in schools, fire outbreaks and cases of homosexuality have been blamed to drug abuse.

The Inspector General of Police, Maj. Gen. Kale Kayihura says some negative elements in public lure pupils and children into taking drugs which lead them to commit the above behaviour.

The police chief says schools have become targets of negative elements. Kayihura says when the students and pupils get hooked to drug abuse they become couriers of evil acts like strikes. Speaking to journalists in Kampala today, Kayihura said drug abuse poses a high risk to Ugandans.

According to research, marijuana is the most abused drug in Uganda. Kayihura urges students and all Ugandans at large to deist from abusing drugs.
